Piera Lizzeri trained as a Theatre Designer at RADA where she gained a distinction, going on to design for theatre, opera, television and film. It was whilst working on productions that her love of furniture, textiles and craftsmanship developed. Spending time designing and creating props for various productions allowed her to gain an understanding of period specific details. It is here that she learnt not only to be sympathetic to a piece of furniture and its function, but that there is great scope to cross over those boundaries and be playful. 

 

Her love of beautifully finished, hand-crafted furniture can be seen in the care taken with each item. Piera passed her training with distinction at Barnett Upholsteries, an AMUSF (Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers) training centre in London.
